Yellow Boat Project

This project is the same as the AIDS one but we got to choose which ever topic we wanted. I chose to take a photo that would convey a message to the general population. I didn't choose a topic because i thought it would be hard to have someone pretend to have a problem in a photo that they do not have. I chose to have the model look like a strong person with a lot of pride, at least thats what i wanted. I put this quote with this picture because i think it really helps everyone who reads it. I think this photo would help someone with AIDS, someone who has been abused, basically anyone with any kind of problem and we all know that everyone has some kind of problem in their life. I just wanted to take a picture that would inspire people to live a spectacular life and not let certain things, no matter how big, take that away. I was inspired to take a photo like this when i learned about the Yellow Boat. The little boy stayed strong for his family and tried to make everything okay even though he was dieing. He was strong, proud, and he never felt sorry for himself. I just really wanted my photo to include that in some way after i heard the story. Overall i think the photo turned out nicely. <3

AIDS Awarness Project

For this project we had to take a photo that had to do with AIDS awareness. I had a difficult time thinking of an idea but after doing some research, i found what i wanted to do. For this picture i painted Casey and Marina's hands and took the photos with the strobe. I wanted to do this picture with red hands to represent the AIDS virus and the joining together of hands to show strength. I think that the quote fits perfectly with the picture and it really gets the message across that i wanted. Overall i think that this photo turned out really well, i could have been more creative but i think this does make a statement. <3

Still Life

This was kind of a side project that i did during class when i had nothing else to shoot. I thought that this photoshoot was extremely helpful and that i learned a few skills that i didnt have before. I learned how to work better with lighting and how one little change makes a huge differece. I also learned that if you move the smallest thing in a photo, it changes the whole picture and composition. I think that these photos turned out really well for never shooting a still life before but i know that with more practice they could be even better. <3
